Zoo Mate - Bruce Bruce, the southern hairy-nosed wombat, is one of Rockhampton Zoos real characters. He's pretty active, as far as wombats go. He's is often outside exploring and digging while the other wombats are sleeping inside. Bruce loves to go for walks and he also loves rolling around in the grass. We estimate Bruce to be in his mid 20s. He was rescued as an adult wombat from South Australia. He was found to have limited vision which was causing him to struggle to survive in the wild. Bru

Today was an incredible day for our rescue teams. Apart from the little girl we lost due to mange, we also treated 2 wombats for mange and did this epic rescue Called in from Jerrabomberra residents that a wombat was stuck in floodwaters on a tiny island, our amazing team went straight there.
