60 years ago today on June 5, 1961... Decca released Bill Anderson's "Po' Folks". Bill admits the song really isn't about his own childhood, since he had a comfortable upbringing outside Atlanta. Note that in this video clip emcee T. Tommy Cutrer incorrectly indentifies harmonica player Charlie McCoy as "Johnny McCoy". The song went to #9 on the Country Singles Billboard chart. | GatorRock
