I’m sharing my personal experience, so you don’t repeat my mistake. While buying gold in Dubai, I used my friend’s card for payment because he stays there. Because of that, the bill was made in my friend’s name. At the airport, I realised something important — Without YOUR name on the bill, you cannot claim VAT refund. And unfortunately, no VAT return for me. Important tip: Even if your friend is paying with their card, ✔️ Always ask the shop to make the bill in YOUR name ✔️ Carry your passport
