A healthy spine is protected by what I call four columns: the two psoas at the front and the two bands of spinal erectors at the back. Those small “wings” on the sides are the QL. You rarely get a CT image like this that shows the real thickness of the muscles surrounding the spine. That’s why I’m showing it: you can see the difference between a strong system and a weak one.
