Writing a Compelling Backstory for a Meropis Game

Backstory is an essential part of storytelling. The past of the world and your characters need to be fleshed out first, so you can know where to go and what past experiences inform your characters’ behavior in the front story. I love good background/worldbuilding info in a book bc I love learning as much as I can about the storyworld. But best practices say limit backstory and seamlessly weave it into the front story, telling readers only what they need to know when they need to know it. #writin
