Personal property assessments in Prince William County are to be based on property values as of January 1 of the tax year, which begins on January 1 and ends on December 31, pursuant to Virginia Code Section 58.1-3515.

All real property in Prince William County, except public service properties (operating railroads, interstate pipelines, and public utilities), is assessed annually by the Real Estate Assessments Office.

Prince William Circuit Court uses the Supreme Court Case Management System which is used by 117 of the 120 Circuit Courts in the Commonwealth. The online Case Management System is real time. It is current. The Clerk’s Office uses the online system to answer questions from the public.

We aim to provide outstanding customer service to the residents of Prince William County through our Taxpayer Services Division, which encompasses our Service Counters, Call Center, email support, website, and tax portal.

The Prince William County Board Chambers, serves as the meeting space for the Board of County Supervisors and additional public bodies, including the Planning Commission, the Racial and Social Justice Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Board of Equalization.
