In addition to Patrol Operations, the Florida Highway Patrol has many specialized areas. The Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement conducts data driven enforcement and educational programs to improve the safety of commercial motor vehicles.

Combined with having over 140 miles of coastline along the Atlantic Ocean and one of the state’s most populous counties, Troop L has many high-profile events that require the Florida Highway Patrol to play a prominent and vital role in both highway and public safety.
Troop I - Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
Troop I oversees commercial vehicle enforcement operations for Florida’s northern region encompassing Troops A, B, C, and H. Troop I is separated into three districts: Panama City, Lake City, and Ocala. Panama City, which oversees Florida’s Panhandle is commanded by Captain Matthew Blansit.
Troop K - Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
Troop K is responsible for patrolling the 450-mile Florida Turnpike highway system to include the 312-mile main line that runs from Wildwood in the north to Florida City in the south. Troop K is divided into three districts: Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Miami. Orlando is commanded by Captain Elias Sanchez.

The Pensacola District, commanded by Captain Eddie Elmore, covers Escambia, Santa Rosa Okaloosa and Walton counties. Troop A is very diverse, covering everything from farms to woodlands in large rural areas, to beaches along the coastline in the small and larger cities.

The commander of District 1 is Captain Steven Devore. District 2 is commanded by Captain Lenita King. The Deland/Cocoa District encompassing the counties of Seminole, Volusia, and Brevard is commanded by Captain Christopher Sorvillo.
