Several European Union officials responsible for negotiating Sunday’s trade agreement with the US think the deal they hammered out was the least-bad option available to the bloc, according to people familiar with their thinking.
President Donald Trump is in Scotland, where he is meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to refine a trade deal the two leaders signed last month. During the trip, Trump has also visited Trump golf properties as his family’s business prepares to open a new Scottish course bearing his name in August.
The president struggles to shift the conversation away from Epstein as his supporters demand the release of files about the case.
