Israel and Iran launched fresh attacks on each other overnight into Sunday, as U.S. President Donald Trump said the conflict could be easily ended while warning Tehran not to strike any U.S. targets.

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said that it’s possible the US could become involved in the Israel-Iran conflict. “It’s possible we could get involved,” Trump said in an interview with ABC News on Sunday. He noted that the US is “not at this moment involved.”

U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Sunday that any attack against the U.S. will be met with the "full strength and might" of the U.S. military.

Israel’s attack on Iran was long in the making – the result of years of meticulous planning by Israel and days of high-stakes talks between Tel Aviv and Washington, officials told CNN.

Trump, who turned 79, said: "President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran."

President Donald Trump's eventful week included securing a preliminary trade deal with China, deploying National Guard troops to Los Angeles, and responding to Israel's strikes on Iran.
