The former Bank of England and Bank of Canada governor says he is considering running for leader of Canada’s Liberal Party and prime minister.

Mark Carney is ready to launch his campaign to replace Justin Trudeau as Liberal leader and prime minister of Canada. Carney, a banker comfortable with the Davos set, showed up on “The Daily Show” Monday night, casting himself as an “outsider.”

Another possible candidate is the new finance minister, Dominic LeBlanc. The former public safety minister, and a close friend of Trudeau, LeBlanc recently joined the prime minister at a dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. LeBlanc was Trudeau’s babysitter when Trudeau was a child.

During an appearance on The Daily Show, Mark Carney called himself an ‘outsider’, and said Canada needs change to address economic challenges and rising costs.
