Air Canada and the union representing 10,000 flight attendants resumed talks late Monday for the first time since a strike by the flight attendants began over the weekend.

“The suspension of our service is extremely difficult for our customers,” Michael Rousseau, chief executive officer of Air Canada, in a statement.

"The suspension of our service is extremely difficult for our customers. We deeply regret and apologize for the impact on them of this labour disruption," Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau said.
