Hurricane forecasters say Tropical Storm Erin is set to strengthen into a hurricane and then a major hurricane within a matter of days.

For now, most reliable computer models that meteorologists use show Erin curving away from the United States, spinning off the East Coast later in August.

Tropical Storm Erin continues to move quickly west, and is expected to become the first hurricane of the Atlantic season.
