At 46, Pacquiao is older than George Foreman when Foreman defeated Michael Moorer to win the IBF and WBA heavyweight titles in 1994. Pacquiao also hasn't fought professionally in just shy of four years, retiring after being beaten by Yordenis Ugas in August 2021. That Ugas fight came more than two years after Pacquiao's previous bout.

Manny Pacquiao returns to the boxing ring for the first time in four years on Saturday to face Mario Barrios. The 46-year-old Pacquiao is understandably an underdog given his lack of recent time in the ring. WBC welterweight champion Barrios is 16 years younger than his opponent and has fought five more times than him over the last four years.

Age-related concerns aside, Manny Pacquiao is going to have to overcome a significant reach advantage if he has a chance of beating Barrios. While Pacquiao could feasibly have a power advantage, he's almost certainly going to need to absorb punches from Barrios (especially jabs) to get within range.
