An appeals court in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday ordered a new trial for former Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, who earlier this year was convicted of sexual abuse of a minor.
Pallette, a second-round pick by the Chicago White Sox in the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft, was taken by the Cleveland Guardians with the ninth pick in Wednesday’s Rule 5 draft. Under Rule 5 guidelines, Pallette must be placed on the Guardians’ 26-man roster immediately.
