The Athletic's Eric Koreen feels the Golden State Warriors' decision to extend a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga has more to do with team-friendly RFA rules than with a desire to keep the forward in the Bay Area.

The most recent Golden State Warriors news says that Jonathan Kuminga has been offered some big money from rival teams. This doesn't put the Warriors in a good negotiating position.

The Suns and Kings are the last suitors left standing for Kuminga, but the Warriors aren’t interested in what they’re offering. Charania reports the Suns are offering Kuminga nearly $70 million more in guaranteed money than the Warriors are, which comes out to a $90 million deal over four years.
