Safeway workers in several Colorado cities entered the third day of labor strikes Tuesday against Safeway and Albertsons over alleged unfair labor practices, with picketing in Grand Junction prompting a temporary store closure.

On Sunday, four stores went on strike including stores in Estes Park, Pueblo and Fountain, as well as a distribution center in Denver.

On Tuesday, members of the UFCW Local 7 held a vote to authorize a strike for more stores. Colorado Springs meat and retail workers voted 99% in favor of striking, according to a social media post from the union. They will join the employees at the Fountain Safeway and one location in Pueblo, who began their picket lines over the weekend.

They made good on that promise on June 15, joining the first cities to go on strike, including Fountain, Estes Park, and a Denver distribution center. Later in the day, workers from the Littleton Safeway also walked off the job,

Without a labor agreement in place with Union UFCW Local 7, Estes Park Safeway employees will go on strike on Sunday morning, joining just three other Safeway locations,
