Baltimore’s top prosecutor is no longer seeking to vacate the murder conviction of Adnan Syed, the man whose case garnered national attention in the “Serial” podcast over a decade ago.

Syed, whose case garnered international attention after the “Serial” podcast, has a hearing Wednesday seeking to reduce his sentence and allow him to remain free.

Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates withdrew the motion to toss out the murder conviction of Adnan Syed, brought to international attention by the podcast “Serial” in 2014.
