There are more than 1,000 people in Colorado who say they were sexually assaulted, have proof and want their attackers arrested, but can't. It's the state's fault.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation will have another year to spend $3 million earmarked for the processing of sexual assault forensic exams after lawmakers set more transparency measures for how it works through the backlog of more than 1,400 kits.

Now, with a more than 500 case backlog of sexual assault DNA tests, CBI on Monday announced the launch of a new dashboard that will track this backlog.

Denver7's Shannon Ogden sat down with Rob Low, spokesperson for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to learn more about CBI's new dashboard that will publicly track the bureau's progress to address its rape kit backlog.
