Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams will compete at a WTA event for the first time in 16 months after she accepted a wildcard for this month's Washington Open.

Venus Williams isn’t done with competitive tennis just yet. Williams, 45, has accepted a main draw wild card for the Mubadala Citi DC Open, which takes place in Washington, DC, later this month.

Williams’ last singles win on the WTA Tour was in 2023, against Russian Veronika Kudermetova, in the opening round of the Cincinnati Open.
