San Francisco acquired the slugger from the Boston Red Sox via a shocking trade that saw pitchers Jordan Hicks and Harrison, outfield prospect James Tibbs III, and relief pitcher Jose Bello go to the American League East team.

The Red Sox asked Devers to play first base after telling him he’d only be a designated hitter this season. He declined, but first base may be the Giants’ biggest need. Would he have a
