California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is set to embark on a South Carolina tour next week, sparking rumors about his potential presidential run in 2028. What Happened: Newsom is scheduled to meet voters and tour several rural counties in South Carolina.
The California governor will speak to Southern voters in an early sneak peek into a possible presidential bid.
Newsom will be making a two-day swing through South Carolina to meet with communities impacted by natural disasters.
The governor most recently visited the state in January 2024, in order to campaign for former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Those statistics ranked South Carolina in 25th place among all 50 states. The study ranked Virginia as the most patriotic state, followed by Montana, Vermont, Colorado and Oregon.
The Palmetto State’s senior senator has faced primary challenges before, and multiple challengers helped lead to a split in the anti-Graham vote.
State Rep. RJ May was a founding member of the South Carolina hard-line conservative group. He was a lead strategist and often the target of ire in the House.
"As a proven conservative fighter, I will unapologetically stand with President Trump and the America First agenda and will fight to put South Carolina first," André Bauer said.
Gov. Henry McMaster signed the judicial reform bill into law last year – but it didn’t go into effect until Tuesday. It keeps in place the general structure of how judges are picked in South Carolina – including retaining the legislature’s authority to select the judiciary – while making changes to within that system.
