Stars captain Jamie Benn broke the ice 16 seconds into the second period, scoring for the third time in as many games against Utah HC, but it only took Matias Maccelli a little more than a minute to answer with a goal of his own.

The Dallas Stars manage to finish off their homestand with a hard fought 3-2 win over the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday. The Stars were outshot and outplayed for certain portions of the game, including a third period where they landed just five shots on net.

Jamie Benn and Oskar Bäck also scored for the Stars ... Matias Maccelli scored twice and Karel Vejmelka stopped 26 shots as Utah lost for the sixth time in seven games (1-4-2).

The Dallas Stars (24-13-1) end a short, but perfect three-game homestand with a 3-2 overtime win against the Utah Hockey Club (17-15-7) at American Airlines Center on Saturday night.

After previously losing to Dallas at home twice in December, Utah traveled to Dallas in hopes of a different result. Despite playin much better than it previously did, Utah still ended up losing to the Stars.
