The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a suspect by a San Diego Police Department officer in downtown San Diego.

Gabriel Jesus Garza, 40, of San Diego, was identified as the man who died in police custody over the weekend following his arrest outside Star Bar in the Gaslamp Quarter.
