More than a dozen war veterans from Ukraine were on hand when Oleksandr Usyk faced Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night and Usyk become the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

The Ukrainian superstar knocked out hard-hitting Brit Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their bout at Wembley Stadium in London to capture his IBF world heavyweight title and become the first two-time undisputed heavyweight champion of all time.

After the fight, Usyk addressed his opponent in the ring, saying: “Sorry, this is sport. My people wanted this victory.” He also paid tribute to the Ukrainian soldiers defending the country against Russian aggression.

Oleksandr Usyk has now laid waste to a generation of top tier British undisputed heavyweight hopes in Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
