Pebble's founder is back with a company called Core Devices and two familiar smartwatches—Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2—but this time he's only making 10,000 units of each.

Pebble was an early smartwatch, with an e-ink display. People loved this watch. Now it's coming back, with the Core 2 Duo ($149) replacing the Pebble 2, and the Core Time 2 ($225) replacing the Pebble Time 2.

The company made cool, versatile, affordable smartwatches a decade ago, before shutting down in late 2016 and selling most of its assets to Fitbit (which itself was acquired by Google in 2021). Now, Pebble is back — sort of.
