The mother of the teen now charged with attempted murder in Sunday’s daytime stabbing of a six-year-old boy near a bus stop in downtown Halifax says she’s “been trying desperately for years to get her the help she needs.

A 19-year-old woman, Elliott Chorny, has been charged with attempted murder after a six-year-old boy was stabbed on a street in downtown Halifax on Sunday afternoon.

The woman charged with attempted murder in the stabbing Sunday of a six-year-old boy on a Halifax sidewalk had recently been arrested for an assault alleged to have occurred in late January.
