Two children are dead and their mother is behind bars suspected of driving under the influence following a crash in Napa County Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Two children-- a boy aged 10 and girl aged 9-- were killed, and the driver, Yesica Barajas, 31, received major injuries. Barajas was taken to the hospital and once she is medically cleared, she will be arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP said.

Law enforcement officials are warning drivers not to count on luck to avoid trouble if they decide to drink and drive on St. Patrick's Day.
