Virginia Beach police confirmed Monday that investigators found the body of a missing 12-year-old boy from a pond near the area he was last seen.

Earlier Monday community members had gathered at the same Virginia Beach apartment complex where local police were searching for Acevedo. They planned to distribute flyers and search the area.
