San Diego infielder Luiz Arraez was taken off the field at Daiken Park on a backboard after a collision at first base with Houston's Mauricio Dubón.

San Diego Padres designated hitter Luis Arraez, who hit a drag bunt on the first pitch of his at-bat, was carted off after colliding with Mauricio Dubon on a play at first base in the first inning of Sunday's game with the Houston Astros at Daikin Park.

First base coach Dave Macias immediately knelt next to a motionless Aarez, who was laying on his side, as a member of the Astros medical staff bounded out of the nearby dugout. Arraez rolled over on his back as Padres athletic trainers and manager Mike Shildt sprinted from the third base dugout.
