Alessandro Nesta is back at Monza for a second stint as coach of Serie A’s last-place club, just seven weeks after he was fired.

Monza have recalled Alessandro Nesta to take over as manager following the sacking of Salvatore Bocchetti, the Serie A club said on Monday, after a heavy defeat at the weekend kept the club rooted at the bottom of the standings.

The 48-year-old former centre-back was sacked on December 23 after winning just one of his 17 league matches in charge.

Monza have reappointed Alessandro Nesta as their manager seven weeks after sacking the former Italy defender.
