NFL free agency officially began with the new league year kicking off at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. There were plenty of moves made during the legal tampering period on Monday and Tuesday, but those deals were basically handshake agreements.

The first stage of the player acquisition period of the NFL offseason is here. The league's free agency period started at noon Monday. That's when the official "negotiation window" opened up for teams to reach out to players' agents and start talking about and reaching agreement on deals.

On defense, the changes were more severe. They said goodbye this week to three defensive line starters — Floyd, Maliek Collins and Javon Hargrave — starting linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and two key members of the secondary in cornerback Charvarius Ward and safety Talanoa Hufanga.
