Beth Mead believes that England’s Euro 2025 opener defeat to France was 'the best thing that could have happened' to the Lionesses, as they prepare for a high-stakes quarter-final clash against Sweden.

The European Championships quarter-final clash between England and Sweden is a repeat of the 2022 semi-final in the same competition, a game England won 4-0 en route to lifting the trophy. The English will hope it’s a similar story here after a mixed bag at the Euros thus far.
