Hungry and weak, the Laos cave survivors huddled together in damp darkness for 11 days, clinging to hope as a wall of water blocked their way out.

Rescuers are confident that the two men still missing inside the cave are still alive as search operations continue.

CNN was the only team on the ground to witness the rescue effort, as the survivors were sent off in ambulances to receive medical care.
