Most alcohol-related St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in South Boston will end by 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 16. In anticipation of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, liquor stores will close by 4 p.m. as usual on Sundays.

The parade was plagued last year by public drinking, violence, assaults, overcrowding, and disorderly conduct, officials said.

It was not as well behaved in the past last year, particularly driven by young intoxicated people in general and the fighting associated with it and we’re just not going to tolerate that
