Eccentric former Red Sox closer was thrilled to see old teammate elected to the Hall of Fame
Earlier this week, former Boston Red Sox reliever Billy Wagner was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum's Class of 2025 after a 10-year wait on the ballot. Wagner played with the Red Sox for just a couple of months in 2009, but he made an impact with some of Boston's best, including closer Jonathan Papelbon.

Former Red Sox reliever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame
On Tuesday, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum revealed the 2025 Hall of Fame class, which included former Boston Red Sox reliever Billy Wagner. Wagner, 53, was a first-round pick of the Houston Astros in the 1993 MLB draft out of Ferrum College. He debuted with Houston in 1995 and was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2004.
