The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Feb. 6 released an advisory about an outbreak of Ebola in Uganda caused by the Sudan virus disease.

The outbreak marks Uganda's eighth from an Ebola virus. The first confirmed case in the outbreak was a nurse at a hospital in the nation's capital, Kampala, who contracted Ebola on Jan. 20 or Jan. 21 and died on Jan. 29.

The minister for health, Ruth Aceng, has reassured the public that the country is under the attack of an Ebola outbreak from southern Sudan, adding that the government through the support of development partners in particular the World Health Organization is under control.
