Ahead of a predicted four-day round of severe storms, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency for the Bluegrass State Wednesday morning. According to a news release from Beshear's office, the storm is expected to last for four days and bring potentially historic amounts of rain, wind and possible tornadoes around the state.

The president has approved Kentucky's emergency declaration amid a stretch of tornadoes and flooding throughout the state.On Friday, FEMA announced President Donald Trump authorized the agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to help get assistance to those affected by recent weather.

While the threat of severe weather continues into this weekend, most of the attention is now on flooding — as the parts of the state rack up a month's worth of rain in the span of a few days.
