A rare frigid storm charged through Texas and the northern Gulf Coast on Tuesday, blanketing New Orleans and Houston with snow that closed highways, grounded flights and canceled school for more than a million students.

The snowfall has led many residents along the Gulf Coast to find unique opportunities to make the most of the rare wintry weather.

A winter storm in the south of the USA has led three nuns and a priest into a 'holy' snowball fight. The footage, which has now gone viral, was taken at the St Catherine of Siena convent in the US state of Louisiana.
