Buffalo announced on Tuesday that the club has signed linebacker Shaq Thompson to a one-year deal. Thompson, 31, had spent his entire career with the Panthers, where he was coached by Bills head coach Sean McDermott as Carolina’s defensive coordinator.

The Bills have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with former Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, the team announced. Thompson played for Sean McDermott in Carolina at the very beginning of his career while McDermott was the defensive coordinator in Carolina before taking the head coaching job with the Bills.
