A vote in the Virginia State Senate on Tuesday, Jan. 28, created theatrics on the Senate floor. Senators voted on a bill that would guarantee a woman's right to contraceptives, but it ended up turning into something much bigger.

The bill, which still needs to pass the House of Delegates, creates the right to obtain birth control and contraception.

Democrats who control the Virginia Senate rejected nine of Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s board appointments in a move the governor called “petty.”
