SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks defenseman Jake Walman was surprised at the way his time with the Detroit Red Wings ended last summer. But he also harbors no ill will toward the Red Wings organization as he returns to Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday for the first time since being traded to San Jose last June.

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks returned defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin to the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL on Monday morning before leaving for a five-game road trip.

Once again, the San Jose Sharks have found themselves on the losing end of games. Coming into the second half of the season, they had been hopeful after acquiring two back-to-back wins.

The San Jose Sharks have assigned forward Igor Chernyshov to the San Jose Barracuda, it was announced Friday. Chernyshov, who was drafted by the Sharks in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft, has yet to play a game this season due to offseason shoulder surgery.

Just when the year had a promising start, the San Jose Sharks are now facing a rush of injuries. As the Sharks made their way to Utah, a few faces were missing and a few more were making the trip on a questionable status.
