New York Gov. Kathy Hochul raised the possibility of a hate crime in the transgender slaying, as the DA's office and state troopers said there was "no indication" of such motive.

Five people have been arrested and charged with murder after the body of a missing transgender man was discovered dumped in an upstate New York field, authorities said.

Nordquist, a 24-year-old trans man from Minnesota, was tortured and killed in what New York State Police Capt. Kelly Swift called “one of the most horrific crimes I have ever investigated.”
