4.8 magnitude earthquake rattles near Midland, Texas on Friday
Several areas around Midland reported feeling the earthquake, as did some parts of Southern New Mexico, including Roswell, Carlsbad and Alamogordo. The earthquake happened at 12:33 MT/1:33 CT, on Friday, Feb. 28, about 16 miles southwest of Ackerly, Texas, according to the United States Geological Survey.
It is reported to be a 4.8M earthquake. According to social media posts, the quake could be felt from Midland to Fort Worth.
