Mount Etna tour guide Dario Teri told Storyful that Etna is one of the few volcanoes where people can ski "near a lava field."

An Italian photographer captured the fascinating moment a man pulled lava from Mount Etna, in Sicily, to make a traditional souvenir ashtray. Footage filmed by Giuseppe Tonzuso shows a man pulling a small hunk of lava from the volcano with a stick and another man using a metal tool to form a cavity in the molten rock as it cools.
