MINOT, N.D. – Passengers on a Delta Airlines flight operated by SkyWest got a scare after a near miss with a B-52 near Minot Friday. The pilot of the flight from Minneapolis to Minot apologized to passengers for what he called an aggressive maneuver. He says he was cleared to land when he noticed the B-52 and had to take action.
The B-52 crossed the grandstand at the fairgrounds at 7:50 p.m. and headed west to clear the tower’s airspace before returning to the base.
