At the notorious CECOT prison, he was forced to frog-march, had to kneel from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and was subjected to beatings and threats, his lawyers said Wednesday.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was returned to the U.S. last month, said he suffered severe beatings and psychological torture during his time in then notorious El Salvador prison after being deported in March.

The 29-year-old is now detained in Tennessee after being returned to the US and is awaiting trial on human smuggling charges.
